The main factors in carbide pricing

Cemented carbide, often called WC-Co, comes in many forms: tools, rods, segments, production residues and grinding waste. The usable carbide share is a key part of its assessment.

For rods, blanks and fragments, see cemented carbide buying.

Purity and contamination

Clean carbide is easier to assess than a mix with steel, swarf, welds or other metals. Contamination affects further processing and can influence the final offer. Separate materials where you can do so safely.

Brazed parts and backing material

For brazed tips or segments, the amount of carbide compared with the steel backing matters. You do not need to take tools apart before contacting us. Describe the whole tool and its carbide tip.

Material form and size

Solid pieces, fragments, tools and fine carbide grinding residues require different handling. For grinding residues, purity and separate packaging are especially useful. Tell us whether your material is a uniform batch or a mixture.

Quantity and repeat deliveries

Approximate weight helps us calculate an estimate and arrange collection. We can discuss one-off and regular deliveries. The homepage calculator uses an indicative rate; a final price follows assessment of the actual material and weight.

For clean inserts, cemented carbide and solid tools, try the homepage price calculator.

Transport across the Czech Republic

Location affects the practical handover. We discuss offers from Ostrava, Brno, Prague, Plzeň, Olomouc, Zlín and other regions. Collection or handover is agreed according to quantity and location.

Preparing an inquiry

For an initial assessment, please send:

  • Material type: carbide inserts, solid carbide, segments, tools or grinding residues.
  • Approximate weight and whether this is a one-off or regular supply.
  • A description of the material and any other metals.
  • City or region for handover arrangements.
