Carbide inserts and VBD
Keep loose indexable inserts apart from screws, holders, steel swarf and other scrap. If there are many insert types, a basic split into clean inserts and mixed material is a useful start. Mention coated inserts separately if you can identify them.
- Separate loose carbide inserts from steel and contamination.
- Label mixed batches and include an approximate weight.
Cemented carbide and solid pieces
Keep rods, segments, blanks and fragments separate from fine residues. Note whether the pieces come from a uniform batch or a mixture. Include a material designation if known.
Carbide grinding residues
Pack fine grinding residues separately from solid carbide, ideally in sealed containers or strong bags inside a crate. This limits material loss and contamination. Tell us if abrasive or other metal components may be present.
Tools with brazed carbide
Group brazed tips and tools by type and by the amount of backing material. Do not dismantle unfamiliar tools in an unsafe way. Approximate weight and a description of the backing material help us assess the carbide share.
Preparing sorted material for sale
Pack and label each group safely, and estimate its weight. Send the material type, quantity, location and a description of any backing material in your inquiry. Sorting helps with assessment but does not guarantee a particular buying price; a final offer depends on the material verified.
